Water Resources Design Engineer–Denver/Glenwood Springs

Job Description:

WWE is hiring a Water Resources Design Engineer. As a Water Resources Design Engineer at WWE, you will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on innovative and dynamic projects related to stream restoration, stormwater design, floodplain modeling, mud/debris flow analysis, fish passage/barrier design, ditch and diversion structure design, watershed analysis, water quality evaluation, pond design, and more.

The qualified engineer will have experience in design and construction as well as hydrology and hydraulics. The candidate will have at a minimum, a bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering and 3-5 years of experience, including the use of CAD/Civil3D, GIS, hydraulic modeling (HEC-RAS, preferably 1D and 2D), hydrologic modeling (HEC-HMS, EPA SWMM). Experience with regulatory floodplain matters, including preparing CLOMRs and LOMRs for submittal to FEMA is a plus. Note: this is not an entry-level position.

Compensation/Benefits:

  • Compensation range (salary + bonuses) is $85,000–110,000 annual salary, based on experience, education, and skills.

Water Rights Specialist

Job Description:

WWE is seeking an experienced Water Rights Specialist to join our team in Denver, CO. This role involves various duties related to water rights evaluations, due diligence, water rights accounting, water supply planning, and the preparation of expert reports for water rights adjudications. The successful candidate must have the ability to analyze technical documents, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and work seamlessly with multiple project staff. This role will contribute to project work based out of our Denver, Durango, and Glenwood Springs offices.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Expertise with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.

  • Meticulous attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet project deadlines.

  • Ability to prioritize work tasks and delegate when appropriate.

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering, watershed science, or an environmental science program with a water resources emphasis.

Internships

Each year, WWE hires two college-level engineering students as summer interns to learn about consulting water resources engineering and to provide engineering support to our staff.  WWE has selected our summer of 2024 interns, but interested candidates are encouraged to check this location in the winter of 2024 for details on 2025 internships.
